State v. Morris
When you develop probable cause that a vehicle contains contraband during a lawful stop, the automobile exception lets you search the entire vehicle — trunk included — without a warrant. The search extends to any place the object could be. A drug dog's failure to alert does not automatically destroy probable cause you already have.
