StreetSense Terms of Use

This page mirrors the current in-app policy (Version 5, effective July 17, 2026). StreetSense is an educational reference for law enforcement — not legal advice and not a substitute for your agency’s training, policies, or your prosecutor’s guidance.

Version 5 · Effective July 17, 2026

1. Terms of Use

By downloading, utilizing, referencing, subscribing to, or accessing any of the mobile apps produced by MNS Industries, LLC, herein referred to as “apps,” you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If, at any time, you disagree with these terms, you must immediately uninstall any such apps and discontinue use. Continued use of these apps constitutes acceptance of these terms in full.

2. Definitions

  • “we,” “us,” “our” — MNS Industries, LLC, a New Jersey Limited Liability Company, and its principal(s).
  • “apps” — Any mobile app or in-app subscription content delivery system developed, maintained, sold, or held by us, including StreetSense.
  • “website” — The website(s) owned and operated by us, found at https://streetsenseapp.com and https://mnsindustriesllc.com/streetsense
  • “terms” or “TOU” — This document, the Terms of Use, and the current version posted at https://mnsindustriesllc.com/streetsense-terms-of-service/.
  • “data” — Any statutory, regulatory, case law, procedural, or reference content delivered through these apps, whether sourced from publicly available legal databases or independently compiled.

3. Permitted Use

3.1 Personal Use: These apps are licensed for personal, professional reference use only. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or share access credentials.

3.2 Law Enforcement Reference: Content is provided as a reference tool for law enforcement professionals. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for charging decisions, arrests, or other law enforcement actions.

3.3 Department Policy Controls: Your department’s policies, procedures, and directives always supersede any guidance provided in these apps.

4. General Issues Regarding Use of Services

4.1 Applicability of TOU: The use of these services and/or apps, including the purchase of any subscription or content, is subject to these Terms and Conditions.

4.2 Delivered Content: The content delivered within these apps includes public-domain legal materials, such as official state statutes, administrative materials, directives, and judicial opinions, together with our compilation and annotations. Your purchase covers licensed access to the applicable app features and our delivery and maintenance of that content. Temporary unavailability does not automatically create a refund right, but nothing in these Terms limits refund or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived. App Store refund requests are administered by Apple.

4.3 Content Accuracy: While we strive for accuracy, statutes, regulations, and case law are subject to change. Always verify information against current official sources before taking action.

4.4 Professional Responsibility: You acknowledge that law enforcement actions carry significant consequences. This app is a reference aid, not a substitute for proper training, legal counsel, or supervisory guidance.

4.5 Loss from Use: Any responsibility for loss, damage, liability, or penalty arising from use of the apps is subject to the warranty disclaimers and liability limits in Sections 8 and 9, including their non-waivable-law exceptions.

5. Subscriptions

5.1 Delivery of Purchased Content: After you select a state, the App downloads that state’s available legal-reference pack and may periodically replace it with a newer pack. Delivery may occur over Wi-Fi or cellular data. You are responsible for your carrier’s data charges.

5.2 Access Period: Subscription features remain available only while the applicable subscription entitlement is active. When it expires, premium features may lock even if downloaded files remain on the device. A Lifetime Kit is a non-consumable purchase, not an auto-renewing subscription. It provides the access scope described in Section 5.5 while StreetSense and a compatible version of the App remain offered; it is not a guarantee that the App, service, operating system, or content sources will operate perpetually.

5.3 Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel through your Apple or Google Play account before renewal. The store you bought through displays the renewal price, trial eligibility, and applicable dates before confirmation and manages billing, cancellation, and refund requests.

5.4 Price Changes: We may change prices for future purchases. Apple or Google Play administers subscription price changes and any notice or consent required for existing subscribers.

5.5 State and Tier Scope: Paid access is bound to one selected state at a time. Each purchase includes up to two self-service state switches; additional state access or support changes may be granted separately. Patrol Essentials and Full Patrol Kit unlock different feature sets shown in the App before purchase. A single-state Lifetime Kit applies to the selected-state scope and does not unlock every state’s paid legal pack. The Lifetime All-States Kit is a separate one-time add-on, available only to holders of a Lifetime Kit, that unlocks every state’s paid legal pack; it does not include the Federal & Military kit, which is sold separately. A Federal & Military purchase unlocks the federal kit and every state’s paid legal pack for as long as that federal entitlement is active.

5.6 What Lifetime Access Covers: A Lifetime Kit, the Lifetime All-States Kit, and any other one-time lifetime purchase cover the StreetSense mobile app for iOS and Android, as offered on the date of purchase and within the scope in Section 5.5, together with the content updates and new features we add to that app over time. Lifetime access does not include products or services we offer separately, even if they carry the StreetSense name or work with the App, including companion apps, smart-glasses, body-camera, or other device integrations, and agency or enterprise services. Any such product is offered under its own terms and pricing. (Section 5.6 added October 25, 2026; it clarifies the scope above and does not reduce what the App includes.)

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Ownership: Except for public-domain and third-party material identified in Section 6.3, the app design, code, decision trees, field guides, search aliases, compilation, and original officer guidance are the intellectual property of MNS Industries, LLC and are protected by applicable law.

6.2 Restrictions: You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the proprietary portions of our apps or content without prior written consent. This restriction does not claim ownership of public-domain legal materials or limit uses the law permits despite a contractual restriction.

6.3 Public Domain Content: Statutory text, case law citations, and regulatory content sourced from the public domain remain in the public domain. Our compilation, organization, annotations, and officer guidance constitute protectable expression.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a Terms violation, security or license abuse, loss of required law-enforcement eligibility, legal process, or discontinuation of the service. If an app reaches end of life, we may delist it and stop providing updates. These rights are subject to applicable law and do not eliminate any non-waivable refund or consumer remedy.

8. Disclaimer

Our apps and related data are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

This app is not a substitute for legal advice, proper law enforcement training, or supervisory consultation. Charging decisions are ultimately the responsibility of your prosecutor’s office and command staff.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MNS Industries, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising from the apps or these Terms. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the apps will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us through the App Store for the affected service during the 12 months before the claim or US $100. These limits do not apply to liability that applicable law does not permit us to limit, including liability for our fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct where non-waivable.

10. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold MNS Industries, LLC harmless from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable expenses to the extent caused by your unlawful misuse of the apps, unauthorized redistribution, credential sharing, or material violation of these Terms. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by our gross negligence, willful misconduct, or violation of law.

11. Amendments to Content and Pricing

11.1 We may change app content, feature descriptions, and prices for future purchases. Existing App Store subscriptions remain subject to Apple’s price-change rules.

11.2 We may amend these Terms prospectively. For material changes, we will provide in-App or email notice where reasonably practicable or legally required and may require renewed acceptance. Continued use after the stated effective date constitutes acceptance, except where applicable law requires a different form of consent.

12. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by New Jersey law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any non-waivable right to bring a claim elsewhere, disputes arising from these Terms or the App will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey. Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of protections that cannot be waived under the law of the consumer’s residence.
